Halfway through the period, with the pace of play slowing down and a 3-2 Vegas Golden Knights lead, Mark Stone leaned into an attempt to poke check the puck off of Miro Heiskanen's stick. While leaning forward, Stone claims Roope Hintz's stick blade caught his skate, and Stone lost his balance. Instead of leading with his stick, Stone fell into Heiskanen's left leg. Chaos ensued as Stars players went after Stone for the collision and Golden Knights players came to his defense.
