The goal came after the Oilers, who had blown a two-goal lead in the third period, failed to convert on a five-minute power play earlier in the extra period after Nicolas Roy was assessed a major penalty for cross-checking. Vasily Podkolzin had a goal and an assist, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Viktor Arvidsson each had two assists for the Oilers, who are the No. 3 seed from the Pacific Division.
